Every engine from Auto Spare Engines comes with comprehensive warranty protection. We stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to your complete satisfaction.
Standard Warranty Coverage
All engines sold by Auto Spare Engines include our standard warranty. Coverage periods vary based on engine type:
Used Engines
6 Months
Covers mechanical failure of major internal components under normal operating conditions
Rebuilt Engines
12 Months
Extended coverage on completely rebuilt engines with new wear components
New Engines
24 Months
Full manufacturer warranty on brand new crate engines
Turbochargers
6 Months
Covers core failure and internal component defects
Injectors & Fuel Pumps
6 Months
Covers remanufactured and tested fuel system components
Engine Parts
90 Days
Covers individual engine components and accessories
Extended Warranty Options
Protect your investment with our extended warranty programmes. Extended coverage is available for purchase at the time of order:
- 12-Month Extended (Used Engines): Extends your used engine warranty to 18 months total
- 24-Month Extended (Rebuilt Engines): Extends your rebuilt engine warranty to 36 months total
- Unlimited Kilometre Coverage: Available on select rebuilt and new engines
What's Covered
Our warranty covers defects and failures of major engine components under normal use:
- Cylinder block and head failures
- Crankshaft and camshaft defects
- Piston and connecting rod failures
- Valve train component failures
- Oil pump and water pump failures (internal)
- Timing gear and chain/belt failures (internal)
- Main and rod bearing failures
What's Not Covered
- External accessories (alternator, starter, AC compressor, etc.)
- Damage from improper installation or lack of pre-start procedures
- Damage from overheating, lack of lubrication, or contaminated fuel/oil
- Damage from racing, competition, or overloading
- Normal wear items (filters, belts, hoses, gaskets, seals)
- Consequential damages (towing, rental vehicles, loss of income)
- Labour costs for removal and installation
- Damage from using incorrect fluids or non-approved modifications
- Pre-existing conditions not disclosed at time of sale
Warranty Conditions
To maintain warranty coverage, the following conditions must be met:
- Engine must be installed by a qualified diesel mechanic
- Pre-start procedures must be followed (priming oil system, checking clearances, etc.)
- Correct oil type and grade must be used as specified
- Engine must be operated within manufacturer specifications
- Regular servicing must be performed at recommended intervals
- Service records may be required for warranty claims
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Stop Operating the Engine
If you notice any unusual symptoms (knocking, smoke, loss of power), stop the engine immediately to prevent further damage.

Provide Documentation
Send photos/videos of the fault, installation receipts, and service records. Our technical team will assess the claim.
Inspection & Resolution
Approved claims are resolved via repair, replacement, or refund. We aim to resolve all claims within 14 business days.
Important Notes
Warranty Start Date: Your warranty begins on the date of delivery/collection, not the installation date. Keep your invoice as proof of purchase.
Core Returns: Exchange engines require return of your old core within 30 days. Failure to return cores may affect warranty validity.
