Returns Policy
At Auto Spare Engines, we stand behind the quality of every engine we sell. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, we offer a fair returns process subject to the terms below.
7-Day Inspection Period
You have 7 days from delivery to inspect your engine and report any issues. The engine must remain uninstalled during this inspection period. Once an engine has been installed, it is no longer eligible for return (warranty terms apply instead).
Return Eligibility
- Engine must be uninstalled and in the same condition as received
- All original components and accessories must be included
- Engine must not have been started or connected to any vehicle systems
- Original invoice and order confirmation required
- Return authorisation must be obtained before shipping
- Engine must be properly secured for return transport
Non-Returnable Situations
Returns will not be accepted in the following circumstances:
- Engine has been installed, started, or connected to vehicle systems
- More than 7 days have passed since delivery
- Engine shows signs of tampering or modification
- Custom or special order engines (sourced specifically for you)
- Damage occurred due to improper handling or storage by customer
- Engine cores and exchange units
How to Return an Engine
Contact Us Within 7 Days
Call +27 11 123 4567 or email returns@autospareengines.co.za to report your issue and request a Return Authorisation (RA) number.
Prepare the Engine
Secure the engine on a pallet and ensure it's properly protected for transport. Use original packaging if available.
Arrange Collection or Delivery
We'll arrange collection or provide delivery instructions. Your RA number must be clearly marked on the shipment.
Inspection & Refund
Once received, we'll inspect the engine within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days.
Return Shipping Costs
Incorrect Engine Supplied: If we supplied the wrong engine for your application, we cover all return shipping costs and will either send the correct engine or provide a full refund.
Change of Mind: Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. A restocking fee of 15% may apply to cover inspection and handling costs.
Refund Methods
Refunds are processed via EFT to your nominated bank account within 7 business days of approval. Please ensure you provide correct banking details when requesting your return. Credit/debit card refunds will be processed to the original card used for purchase.
Damaged During Delivery
If your engine arrives damaged, do not accept delivery if possible. If damage is discovered after delivery, contact us immediately at +27 11 123 4567 and take photos of all damage. We'll work with our freight partner to resolve the issue and arrange a replacement or refund.
